1. Outstanding share; The total shares issued by a company 


2. Public float; The shares that only accessed to public 


3. Face value; The price for a stock of a company from its beginning is called Face value, it does not changes during the journey of the company 


4. Market value ; The price of the shares in present 


5. Market capitalization; Total no of outstanding shares *Market value of shares

7. Stock symbol; used to denote a particular stock or a company 


8. sector; This is basically used to categorize different companies like automobiles, medicals 


9.Market Segments; 1. Capital Market; in this segment the stokes of the company is traded


      2.Equity and derivative; in this segment the derivatives, futures and options are traded 


 
      3. Wholesale Debt Market; government issued bonds and debentures are traded here 


 10. IPO; initial pubic offering, where a Company initially provides its stock for the public 


11. Secondary offering; company providing stocks to investors second time


12. Primary Market; During this process the company uses its stocks to increase its profit with the investors 


13. secondary market; During this phase the investors trade among themselves 


14. Portfolio; the collection of stock owned by a person is called portfolio


15. Bluechip stocks; The company which has high market capitalization, a company leads in specific sector is called Bluechip stocks and that company is called Bluechip company 


16.Trend; the growth style of a company is called the Trend , there are 3 type of trend up trend, Down trend, sideways trend   


17. Bull market; This term is used when the company grows it is called bullish
and those who collect the stock is called bulls

 
18. Bear market; opposite of bull market

  1. long position; Buying a stock expecting of its growth
  2. short position; selling the stock realizing that the stock price is going down 


20. Square off ; Either you took long or short position if you do not take sell in long position trading before the market closing or if you do not buy the stock in a short position before the market closing, the broker it self take necessary actions where you cannot control your order  it is called Square off


21. Volatility; if the price of a stoke shows great fluctuations it is told as highly volatile and if do not show great fluctuations then vice verse


22. Liquidity; It means that there is always a buyer or seller for you


23.Averaging; Gives better benefits 


24. Charts; basically the red and green candle sticks which we use for technical analysis


25. Volume; the number of buy and sell order for a company during a definite period of time 


26. Open high low close(OHLC); this term is used to determine the market price during the open period the highest price of the day , the lowest price of the the day and the price during the closing time of market
